Position Description
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the assembling of components and finished medical devices on a specific production line. This includes overseeing the production team and shift support staff and ensuring efficient operation in achieving business targets. The Supervisor will provide administrative and functional supervision, leadership and line management to the team, coordinate their work, provide support to ensure that the team delivers and meets production targets while monitoring for any issues. This position also develops the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.

The Shift Supervisor position is a Second or Third Shift position and responsible for overnight assembly operations.
Position Responsibilities

• Ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards
• Assembles subassemblies and finished product per standardized work instructions to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Open facility and ensure set up of the production line equipment
• Perform basic equipment adjustments and troubleshooting
• Assess personnel and facility emergencies escalating with support teams when needed
• Ensure that team members follow defined assembly procedures and comply with quality requirements
• Ensure all records, both theirs and the team members, are completed appropriately
• Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated
• Ensure that the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed
• Ensure achievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets
• Ensure the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities
• Maintain visible lead for adherence to procedures and instructions
• Submit incident, accident and non-conformity reports
• Prepare line set-ups for following shifts
• Responsible for training of operators for products and processes within their team
• Ensures compliance to quality standards and work instructions
• Enters computer transactions for movement of product and inventory components.
• Responsible for pulling components per BOM and creating labels to support released customer schedules
• Monitor time and attendance and report compliance concerns to Operations Manager
• Provide technical expertise to the team and respond to operator queries
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Leads and mentors their team members for personal growth and achievement
• Understands and can communicate MC3’s policies and procedures to their team members
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Substantial experience supervising a team
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate across functions, and influence individuals at all levels
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple objects with competing demands
• Must be self-motivated and can work with minimal direction
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Conflict management and resolution skills
• Team building skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supervising assembly team members
• Experience leading a night shift

Job Specifications

• Occasionally moves and positions assembly equipment weighing up to 30 pounds for various manufacturing and production needs
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
• Must be able to operate cutting tools and other assembly machinery
• Must be able to inspect parts for quality and identify issues
