Biomaterials
MC3 has developed medical device coatings that provide improved biocompatibility using novel means of generating nitric oxide at the bio/material interface.
Concept → Design → Development
MC3 in-licensed technology from the University of Michigan and created additional IP through continued research and development. MC3 has applied the coatings technologies to a number of medical devices (e.g., stents, catheters, sensors), in conjunction with academic and industry collaborators and with support from NIH.
Commercialization
MC3 formed a spin-off company, Accord Biomaterials, to continue commercialization of the coatings technologies. Accord Biomaterials will seek strategic partners interested in applying these coatings to their devices, and Accord will also pursue development of devices that employ these technologies.
